Al Reef is a self-contained community of themed villages and apartments out past the airport turn-off. Its distance from the centre is part of the appeal, quieter and better value, but it means most residents drive a long, fast commute every day. That open-road mileage is what defines the cleaning job here.

On those highway runs the front of the car takes a beating: bug strike across the bumper and mirrors, road film, and a coating of fine dust from the surrounding desert. Bug residue in particular hardens in the heat and becomes acidic, so leaving it to bake for a week is asking for etch marks.
