The car wash that comes to you and skips the hose
WashBox began in 2024 with one question: why pour 200 litres of desalinated water over a car in a country that makes water from the sea? We answered it with a mobile, exterior-only wash that uses about one litre.

Why WashBox exists
Almost all of the tap water in the UAE starts as seawater, then passes through energy-hungry desalination before it ever reaches a hose. Rinsing one car the conventional way sends 150 to 200 litres of that hard-won water straight down a drain, usually carrying detergent with it. In a country this dry, that felt like the wrong default, and the maths only gets worse across a whole building or fleet.

How we chose the method, and where it does not apply
We did not pick waterless washing because it sounds green; we picked it because it works on UAE soil when it is applied properly. Encapsulating polymer sprays surround grit so it releases from the clear coat instead of being dragged across it, and plush microfibre carries it away. For heavier deposits we switch to low-pressure dry-vapour steam, which softens baked-on dust and light salt before any cloth touches the paint. Deionised water is used only for the final spot-free stages.

The crews and how they are trained
A clean car and a scratched car can come from the same tools in different hands, so training is where we spend our effort. Every crew member learns paint safety before speed: read the soil, pre-soften it, never wipe a dry dusty panel, use fresh microfibre for each vehicle and work in straight strokes rather than swirls. They are taught to recognise when a job needs steam first and when a finish is too fragile for contact at all.
Why we stay exterior-only
Staying exterior-only is a decision, not a gap in our service. A proper interior detail is a longer, messier job that fits badly in a shared car park and would slow every visit down. By concentrating on paint, glass, wheels and arches, we keep each appointment short, predictable and easy to price, and we get genuinely good at the one thing we do rather than being average at everything.
The mobile model saves your trip too
The water saving gets the headlines, but WashBox saves something you notice every week: your own time and fuel. A conventional wash means driving to a bay, waiting in a queue in the heat, then driving home. That is often an hour of your day and a few kilometres of your own fuel spent just to get the car cleaned, on top of whatever the wash itself costs.
Working with buildings, facilities managers and fleets
A lot of our work is arranged through the people who run buildings rather than one car at a time. Facilities managers can set us up with a regular resident wash day, so people book a slot in advance and the crew handles a run of cars in one visit. Because we bring our own water and power and use so little of it, we fit inside the same rules that keep hoses out of the car park.
What we hold to
Water first
Every choice starts from using the least water that still gives a genuinely clean car, because in a desalination-dependent country a litre is never free.
Respect the paint
A wash should never cost you your finish.
Your time counts
We come to your bay so you skip the drive and the queue.
Say it straight
Clear prices from AED 20 confirmed before we travel, honest limits on what waterless can do, and no add-on pressure on the day.

Frequently asked questions
Where is WashBox based?
WashBox is a UAE business, trading as WashBox Eco Car Wash and operating across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. There is no single wash site to visit because the service is mobile: the crew and all their equipment travel to your parking bay. You can reach us in writing at [email protected] or through the booking form on washbox.ae, seven days a week between 07:00 and 22:00.
Do you franchise?
We are focused on running and growing our own crews across Abu Dhabi and Dubai rather than selling franchises, so we can keep training and paint-safety standards consistent from one visit to the next. If you represent a building or a company interested in a regular service, that is a different conversation and very welcome; email [email protected] and we will discuss what a programme could look like.
Are you insured to work in private parking?
We operate as a professional service and treat working carefully in residents' and clients' parking as part of the job, from moving around neighbouring cars to leaving the bay tidy. For buildings and fleets that require specific documentation before we start, tell us what your facilities team needs in your enquiry and we will provide the appropriate paperwork as part of arranging the service.
Can our building arrange a resident service day?
Yes, and it is one of the easiest ways to bring WashBox to a tower. A facilities manager sets a recurring day, residents book slots in advance, and the crew cleans a run of cars in one visit. Because we bring our own water and power and use very little, we fit within the rules that normally keep hose washing out of shared parking. Email [email protected] to set it up.
Do you serve other emirates?
For now WashBox operates in Abu Dhabi and Dubai only, across 55 communities in total, 30 of them in Abu Dhabi. Concentrating on these two emirates lets us keep response times short and our crews familiar with each area. If you are outside our current coverage, you are welcome to send an enquiry with your location so we can tell you honestly whether and when we expect to reach you.
