Windscreens collect a specific, layered kind of dirt that a body wash usually just smears around. There is the oily haze that off-gasses from a hot dashboard and settles on the inside-facing outer film, the fine dust that binds to it, and the wiper-smeared residue of old washer fluid. We start by cutting that film with a dedicated glass cleaner and clean microfibre worked in overlapping passes, so the glass is genuinely stripped rather than polished with its own grime spread thinner.
Environmental impact
Glass care is water-light by nature: we clean and polish with sprays and microfibre, saving roughly 40 litres against hosing the windows down. The real environmental gain, though, is downstream. How do you remove hard water spots from a windscreen?
Set-in mineral spots from sprinklers or hard water are etched into the glass, so a plain cleaner will not shift them. We use a fine glass polish that mechanically removes the calcium and silica deposit and the light hazing around it, restoring clarity many owners think is permanent scratching.
What does a hydrophobic windscreen coating do?
It makes water bead into droplets that roll off the glass as you drive, so you see more clearly in sudden downpours, rely less on wipers, and clear dew and dust more easily. It also reduces the wiper judder that comes from a dry, filmy screen.
Is your glass cleaner safe for tinted windows?
Yes. We use tint-safe, ammonia-free products and gentle pressure so nothing lifts, clouds or discolours the film. Harsh ammonia cleaners are one of the most common causes of ruined window tint, which is exactly why we avoid them on any tinted glass, inside or out.
Can you repair a chip or crack in my windscreen?
No. Chips and cracks are a specialist windscreen-repair job that we do not carry out. Our service cleans, polishes and protects the glass, and can reduce the appearance of light sand pitting from years of highway driving, but it does not repair structural damage to the screen.
